With Apologies and Justice For All

Kerry voters can apologize to the world now for failing to get their guy elected. http://www.sorryeverybody.com/

While I can certainly understand people's strong feelings against Bush, I do not understand why people (worldwide) think Kerry was a better choice. This is what a fellow from my hometown calls "Mushy-Headed Thinking".

  • Look carefully at these people. See if you can understand the real divide. What do they have in common besides their hatred of the people who voted for Bush?

Photograph after photograph of people who are the red states biggest nightmare of who the blue state voters are. The do not intend to win elections by changing minds on the strength of ideas. They intend to win by sheer overpowering of emotion. None of them have anything invested in the culture that they are counter too. They reject the current society for that reason most of all.

What they don't consider is that they too are aging. Most will not be disenfranchised peace marchers twenty years from now. They will have children and homes and jobs. When they have something to lose, they too will have something to conserve.

  • Hey, I'm not mushy headed. I'm in the "anyone but the Eeevil Bush" camp. There's a difference. :P

  • Heavens, I would never say you were mushy in any way, Ang! ;) Actually, as soon as I hit 'submit' on that one, I thought about going back and changing my wording. What I intended to say is that I can understand why people that despise Bush would not vote him (that's you), but I do not understand why anyone with *no* particular opinion about Bush would think Kerry was such a great choice (aka the mushy headed ones).
